Vezquex Wants You!

I am now soliciting website design and development jobs. I will do quick HTML and CSS templates , even with a few Photoshop motifs, starting at $100. But it doesn't stop there; I can provide a wide range of useful services which I have learned about in my time online. I can employ the use of PHP/MySQL and JavaScript to give custom functionality and dynamic nature to your web site. I have proven myself in this area with several tests on my site. Hell, I'll even set up any forums, image galleries, content management systems, or any other web app that you wish installed. Be forewarned, if you want to hire me for a serious assignment, then we're talking a fair rate. Obviously, I am only one man, and I cannot give you the moon, but I believe that I can help those in need of a fast, simple website.

Things I will do:
  • HTML + CSS, PHP, JavaScript
  • Custom artwork
  • Setting up forums and such

Things I will not do:
  • Adobe Flash (I plan to start learning this soon; it is just JavaScript, after all.)
  • Large scale database-driven apps

If you are curious of my credentials, then look no further than my site. Contact me by email or forum.

Whoa, Updates

Well, the fancy ass website design has made its way over to the blog finally. And what better way to congratulate me than donate? (It's in the drop down menu...in the upper right...the one that says "Menu".) Speaking of that menu, I just realized that it contains a recursive link to the blog. Which gives me an idea for another post...

What to do?

I am really opposed to all of the superfluous data associated with this blog. I realized this when updating my template to match my site better. I had to type in the midst of what seems like an entirely new language Google has developed specifically for blogs. I have a much easier time on my site by just copying the previous story div element, advancing the date, and writing my new item. Even if it does take slightly longer, the code is so much cleaner, and there is so much more I can do with it. I just added a rudimentary category system using class properties. If I add pagination and a little form for myself, I'll have my own perfect CMS. Even more ideal and possibly even easier, I could use an existing "News" sub-forum to feed onto the home page.

The problem is, blogger is such a link magnet, what with it pinging the world every time you post. Well, maybe I'll keep this around for useless crap and anything noteworthy will be at the site.

Tales of Snowphonia

As you may know, the Puget Sound area has had an influx of blizzards this season, with today being another flurry after a holiday weekend preceded by another snowstorm. My experiences this morning bring several cliches to mind:

"Screw you guys. I'm goin' home."
"Half a mile in the snow" [Uphill ONE way, mind you]
"Should I stay, or should I go?"
"I'll eat my hat!"

(Kudos to my friend and colleague, Madam Monocle Barbie.)

I also feared for people's lives. Hopelessly waiting with my hoodlum chums for a bus that would that could not statistically arrive, I witnessed many a car skidding and spinning out. I took this time to do (what else?) but tell them about BitTorrent, The Pirate Bay, and Sealand.

Well, as expected, I started my arduous trudge up the hill to return to where I am sitting. I thought to myself, "Well, at least I've gotten out of playing DDR today." Arriving at my mailbox, I cried out in joy,

"Yes! The new Vibe is in."
